OUR MISSION: KNOWING IS EVERYTHING

The only way to control the effects of the pandemic is to test and be able to isolate those who test positive for COVID-19. We have extensive experience when it comes to COVID 19 testing utilizing the Quidel Sofia Antigen test or the PCR-RT Test, we understand the importance of having results in 15 minutes and not having to wait for 3-5 days to make decisions that may affect school, work etc. A negative Covid test result is peace of mind. A positive result lets you know to take precaution immediately.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

  • Q: What types of COVID-19 tests do we provide?
A: We offer the Quidel Sofia 2 COVID-19 Antigen Test to determine active infection if you need quick results or the 24-hour PCR RT Tests required for traveliing. We also offer the Abbott IDNOW Rapid Molecular test.
  • Q: Why do you offer the Quidel Sofia 2 COVID 19 Antigen test?
  • A:Because it is the Gold Standard for Antigen tests and is the most accurate. There are other tests that are being used in the local market that are not as accurate giving patients a false sense of security that they may not be infected.
  • Q: How accurate is the Quidel Sofia 2 COVID-19 Antigen Test?
  • A: The Antigen test is accurate with a sensitivity of 96.7% and specificity of 100%.
  • How Accurate is the Abbott IDNOW Molecular test?
  • A: The Rapid Molecular test is accurate with a 95.0% sensitivity and 97.9% specificity within seven days of symptom onset.
  • Q: Should I ask what type of test I am getting?
  • A: Absolutely, if you are going through the trouble of getting tested make sure you get the best antigen test  that is currently available in the market.
  • Q: What is the cost of the test?
  • A: The cost of the Quidel Sofia 2 COVID-19 Antigen test is $99.   The cost of the PCR_RT is $150. The cost of the Abbott IDNOW Rapid Molecular test is $129. Currently we do not accept insurance.  We will provide you with an itemized bill that you can submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement as most are paying for COVID-19 testing, This means they should reimburse you for the cost of testing.
  • Q: Do I need a doctor’s referral to receive a COVID-19 medical test?
  • A: No referral is needed.
  • Q: Do I need to have an appointment?
  • A: Yes, you need to schedule your appointment online. Our staff is not able to schedule an appointment for you over the phone. Due to the high demand for this test, our appointment slots fill quickly. We are working hard to add more appointment times.
  • Q: What if there are no appointment times available?
  • A: If the website is not allowing you to select a time for COVID-19 testing, it is because we do not have any open appointments at this time. Please keep checking back to see if someone has cancelled and a slot has opened.
  • Q: Do I have to be symptomatic or have a referral to receive a COVID-19 medical test?
  • A: No, you do not have to be symptomatic. You may register for a COVID-19 test for any reason.
  • Q: Do I need a COVID-19 test if I was exposed to someone who is confirmed to have COVID-19?
  • A: Yes, as per CDC guidelines it is recommended that anyone in direct contact with a person who has COVID-19 get tested, particularly those who work with the public or are in contact with people considered high risk for the disease. You should wait at least 5 days after exposure before you get tested in order to have an accurate test. You should quarantine during the period before the visit and test.
  • Q: I am traveling, I need a COVID-19 test back within 72 hours before I fly.
  • A: Check with your airline and/or destination country- to make sure what type of test they require, as there are various testing options. We offer the PCR-RT tests and the Antigen and Molecular(Antigen, PCR, Molecular, Antibody).
  • Can I use the Abbott IDNOW for traveling abroad?
  • A: Yes depending on the country you are traveling into. Please be sure to confirm with the airline and the country you are traveling into what test they require. This website is a good resource to see what tests are accepted for COVID 19 travel according to country of origin and destination. https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/world.php
